Making plans for professional learning: SCEL Framework support material

We know that there are only a few days left before the end of term – but recognising that you and your teams will be making plans for professional learning sessions for after the summer, we thought you’d like to know that we have recently relaunched SCEL’s Framework for Educational Leadership, enhanced with enriched content, learning activities and functionality.

The SCEL Framework is an online leadership learning resource, designed to support your individual professional learning, collaborative learning and leading professional learning with teams.

The Framework is accessible anywhere, anytime, and the learning activities and resources have been developed in partnership with educators working at all levels in the system. Supported by funding from the Scottish Government, access is completely free to educators working in Scottish schools and early learning establishments, and is accessible via your Glow account, or using your work e-mail address.

An important part of our work at SCEL is sharing information about the Framework and how it supports professional learning, and we invite you and your staff to explore the Framework using a range of support resources which you can use individually, or at a whole school or team development session. These support resources, all available on the Framework, include:

  • A PowerPoint presentation and accompanying support guide for facilitators, enabling you to share how the Framework can enhance colleagues’ leadership development
  • Downloadable Framework information leaflets

As always, we welcome your comments and feedback about the Framework for Educational Leadership, and indeed the wider work of SCEL. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
