SCEL celebrate Best Use of Social Media win at IoIC Scotland Awards 2017

The Scottish College for Educational Leadership celebrated this weekend after winning in the Best Use of Social Media category at the annual IoIC Scotland Awards 2017.

More than 100 internal communication professionals gathered at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh as awards were presented across 21 categories including printed publications, audio and visual, social media, strategy, team and outstanding contribution to the communication industry.

The awards celebrate outstanding communication across the public, private and third sectors in Scotland and SCEL was recognised alongside some of the country’s most successful and high profile organisations.

Commenting on the success, Gillian Hamilton, CEO at SCEL said:

“Engaging with social media is really important to us at SCEL – our team use it really well to engage pro-actively and to share our work and thinking with teachers and stakeholders across and beyond Scotland. Winning the award for the Best Use of Social Media at the IOIC awards is a fabulous recognition of the team’s innovative work in this area, and a great endorsement of all that Louise Henderson, our Digital Manager and Katie McGeary our Communications Assistant have achieved.”

Louise Henderson, Digital Manager at SCEL said:

“It’s such an honour just to be included in the shortlist amongst some of the best communications work happening in Scotland, so winning the award was just amazing. We are such a small team, and still only a couple of years old, so we are absolutely thrilled that our work has been recognised and Katie and I are really looking forward to engaging with our audience on social in the year ahead.”
